L is for Love

L is for lots of things! Some letters are easier than others. Today has been filled with the people, places and things we love in Davao.

We had lunch at the Banana Leaf at SM Lanang. Then we went for a luxurious massage in the afternoon. The evening ends with dinner at our favourite restaurant in town (Bon Apetit) that is run by a lovely couple, where we dined with beloved friends.

And then there was this mesmerising mechanical lion.

Running to Apo: Climate Challenge

As previously mentioned, my goal is to climb Mt Apo in spring. My current training ground is the nearby cemetery. It makes for an interesting run.

I think that pig is tied to a rejected cement coffin or something. There are a few of these leading up to the cemetery. Today was the first time I saw a pig here.

Photos: Assiniboine Park on a Sunday Afternoon in Spring

Here are some photos from our walk through the Assiniboine Park today... (My hubby took a bunch of pics for his photo blog, too.)

Photos: A January Day at the Zoo

The Assiniboine Park Zoo is currently under a fair bit of construction for the new "Journey to Churchill" project but it turns out that a mild winter afternoon is pretty much the best time to appreciate the animals. Especially the big cats! The baby tigers and lynxes were very active and super cute! Here are a few pix my hubby and I took. (If you click on the images, you should get larger versions.)
