Blogging from A to Z: C

C!

The Powder Tower in Prague ~ Photo by Bonnie Falk
Wine of the day: Carménère (French, Italian, Chilean... red, aromatic, medium-bodied)

Cheese of the day: Camembert (French, soft-ripened)

Fruit of the day: Cranberry (The tartness goes very well with cheese.)

Movie of the day: "Constantine" (Heavy drama with religious and spiritual themes. Darkly beautiful. Best Tilda Swindon role ever! {Gabriel the Archangel} Based on the comic book "Hellblazer".)

Album of the day: "Challengers" by The New Pornographers (One of my favourite albums by one of my absolute favourite bands!)

Book of the day: "Cryptonomicon" by Neal Stephanson (Epic.)

Country of the day: Czech Republic (An Eastern European country with a lot of heavy history! Prague was going to house the only synagogue on the planet as a symbol of a dead race if Hitler had his way. Kutna Hora is known for it artistic Ossuary. A fascinating place!)

  1. I've tried reading Neil Stephanson a few times but could never get into it.

  2. I enjoyed Constantine. Love the picture of the Czech Republic. I've never been there, but I do have family from that area.

  8. And methinks that Czechoslovakia must have changed a lot since the last time I was there

  9. Horst, Stephanson is not for everyone. He's super geeky and really does go on at length over geeky bits that most people find terribly boring. I happen to be a geek so I love his work! But he doesn't write endings. His books just sort of stop. It's weird.

Wilma, I so wish I could have come to your blogger's wine & cheese (you may have noticed I like that combination. :P) but I had my last choir concert. Please do it again and keep me posted!

Tim, Czechoslovakia is no more. But yeah, I imagine the area has changed a fair bit since then. Army of Darkness? I know not of what you speak. :P

Thanks to all for the lovely comments!
